We rely on sight in all aspects of daily life and therefore an eye test is essential to monitor eye health and maintain the best vision possible.
We strive to provide the most thorough eye test using the latest technology and equipment giving you full confidence in our findings and recommendations.
What to expect?
One of our experienced optometrists will perform a detailed and comprehensive eye test tailored to your specific visual requirements, whether that be reading music whilst playing an instrument to driving a bus at night.
The individual tests performed by the optometrist depend on your personal ocular history and requirements, and therefore the time taken for eye exam varies from person to person. Every patient is treated as an individual and we endeavour to keep you relaxed throughout the eye test and choosing glasses, creating a pleasant patient journey from start to finish.
As well as including tests to check your sight to see if glasses or contact lenses are required, we also check for any potential eye diseases like glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration and other eye conditions.
Our equipment includes a digital retinal camera which allows us to take photographs of the inside of your eyes so even small abnormalities can be detected, recorded and compared in future checks. Combining this with modern examining techniques we can ensure all is done to help prevent unnecessary deterioration of your sight and eye health. Other tests we will carry out include binocular assessment (to see how well the eye work together), peripheral visual fields and intraocular pressure measurements.
The optometrist will always explain the results of the eye test and you will be given every opportunity to ask any questions you may have. The recommendations given at the end of the eye examination consider factors such as your working environment, lifestyle and any leisure pursuits you may have.
All our optometrists have graduated from leading UK universities and are registered with the General Optical Council.
